MITIGATING WILDLAND FIRE RISK IN CANMORE'S PEAKS OF GRASSI
Welcome to FireSmartPeaks, the Peaks of Grassi FireSmart Committee.
Established by a group of residents of Canmore's Peaks of Grassi neighbourhood, FireSmartPeaks is working with the Town of Canmore, Canmore Fire Rescue and FireSmart Alberta to empower Peaks' residents to take steps to increase the resilience of their homes, properties and the neighbourhood against the threat of wildland fire.
The FireSmartPeaks website is intended as a resource for Peaks' residents, and the broader community of Canmore, to keep them informed of planned activities, ways in which they can be involved, and steps they can take, as residents and homeowners, to reduce the negative impacts of wildland fire.
Use the drop-down menu at the top of the page to learn more about FireSmartPeaks and our activities and how you can get involved.

Land Acknowledgement
In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, FireSmartPeaks acknowledges the traditional Treaty 7 Territory, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy Nations of Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and our neighbours, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda Nation consisting of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stoney Bands. This territory is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We further acknowledge the traditional knowledge, expertise, and cultural practices of Indigenous peoples that are crucial for responding to wildland fires.
